Mexico in November 2011

Peg, Keith & son Kent travel down to central Mexico from November 12 to 30.  We flew down to Guadalajara where we were picked up for the drive southwest to the small Mexican state of Colima.

Why?  In February of 2011 Kent needed some major dental work which would cost many thousands of dollars in the US.  We had long-term friends south of the border who had a Mexican friend who was competent dentist.  A little research indicated that much money could be saved by having the work done in the city of Colima, the capitol of the state of Colima.  Kent's dental work included 4 implants and other work which would require another trip south after some months of healing.  Peg and Keith decided to join him on this November trip.  It would give them a chance for their own dental work, help Kent as well as having Kent help his parents, plus time for a little warm weather vacation.  This would also give us an opportunity to visit our our friends, Ted Rose and Susan Hill.  They live in a small village on the side of a volcano north of Colima City and are founders of the successful "Project Amigo" program that has helped poor children in this area for 27 years.  We would stay in Project Amigo facilities in the village of Cofradia de Suchitlán and try to help the program there in some small way.
