9th_Europe_Report-Quimper (27 images) -- Tuesday pm,
October 7
After a spending the morning in Brest learning more about
the connections between the old WWI photos of H. S. Wheeler and modern Brest,
Patrick drives us to the city of
Quimper, 71 km (44 miles)
southeast of Brest.  He has been here before and wants to show us a noted
clothing factory, as well as give us a quick visit to Quimper.  In the
process, we will learn more about the stripy shirts we have been seeing much
more of since entering this western tip of France.  We will also learn more
about the unusual female caricature with a stove-pipe hat we have noticed on
countless bumpers, shopping bags, and many other local items.
