With the poor lighting and through the glass we had difficulty capturing the
many old photographs that seemed to depict local clothing customs in past years.
We were particularly interested in the tall stovepipe-like hats worn by some of
the women pictured. We are told that such a towering lace
headdress, or coiffe, was once a part of daily life here. The
various types of head gear displayed the legacy of lace of the Breton women.
