If you knew where you were, you could use the subway map, if you knew where you were going.
Learning to use the subway -- a very elaborate and efficient system of mass transit.

We braved the crowds, fares, turnstiles and packed ourselves on the subway bound for Ginza and the night lights..
Everywhere there were friendly people.

Here are some night lights taken from an overpass near the hotel.
On an early morning walk, these two shop girls are hanging out their noren to signify the shop is open for business.

Two window washers repel from the side of a high rise in the early hours of the day.
This is the view from an outside table at Starbuck's Coffee shop.

Here is a serious group of artists sketching.
This FMF teacher from Arkansas had trouble justifying a $17.00 sandwich even at Tokyo prices.

Yes, they have McDonald's in Tokyo, and yes, the food tastes the same, I am told.  No, I didn't eat there -- not with all that good sushi around.
This is Ueno Park on a Sunday in November.

The Tokyo National Museum is in the background.
We had a lunch of fruit and creme crepes.

From the commuter boat, we saw this unique and famous Tokyo landmark atop the Asahi building.

The commuter boat leaves  after depositing two tired and soon to be lost tourists at the dock.
As soon as we become unlost, we celebrate at the sushi bar near our hotel.

Me and the sushi plates -- yes, we ate the whole thing! There WERE two of us. Note the conveyor belt of tempting delicacies.  This is so you can get up enough  nerve to try one, or  you can wait until it comes by again.    You pay by the number of empty plates. 130 yen each.
