Matsuyama, pop. 300,000, is the capital of Ehime Prefecture and is probably most noted for Dogo Hot Springs (foreground). The hotel at which we stayed is pictured at the far left. |

Our lodging was ryokan style which included wonderful public baths (inside and rooftop), futon sleeping arrangements and a fine Japanese style breakfast the next morning. |
The hotel Chaharu supplied us with these after-bath yukata(cotton kimono) and Haori, to wear over the yukata and complete the "Ryokan Look." |
The next morning we took the ferry across the Inland sea to Hiroshima port. |
A charter bus took us to the Peace Park where we were both privileged to visit the site of ground zero of the A-bomb attack. |
Ringing the Peace Bell was a humbling experience. |
This is the Children's Peace Monument where all the 1000 paper cranes are sent. |
We pause before entering the interpretive center with the artifacts and remembrances of the explosion. |
