Ehime Prefectural Niihama Nishi High School.
The motto at the entrance provides helpful reminders -- in English

Here we saw an English lesson in giving and receiving directions.  Large class sizes are normal.
Cooking class.  Sensei (teacher) describes the process for shoyu, miso, and tonyu.  (soy products)

Art Class.  This is a painting of a tree near the house of this student.
This art student is emulating the work of a master.

These self portraits are especially well done.
Here is the ubiquitous soda machine.

Japanese student enjoys a McDonald burger at the luncheon given for FMFers.  Students were invited so they could practice their English.
These high school English language students were very friendly.

In clothing class, the sensei demonstrates dressing two students in traditional kimono.
Clean up detail.  No expensive janitors here.  Everyone has a job and takes turns at the various chores.

This student has toilet paper detail this day.
The most common transportation is the bicycle.

This administrator was unusually fluent in English and VERY funny.
It is a custom to wave good-bye to departing visitors -- this was an especially enjoyable day -- and a warm farewell.
