Peg was out walking on the bridge, trying to get closer to the mural paintings
by local street artist Paul Bloas (known for
subjects with small heads) when the tram approached. It was so
sleek, colorful and modern looking that she tried to include it in the scene.
In the process, the iconic Tanguy Tower was included, along with the clean,
spare geometry of the bridge. Some days a photographer just gets lucky.
Here is a closer look at Bloas' "Les
Gens de Brest" (The People of Brest). These are examples of Bloas'
"ephemeral" paintings on paper that are not meant to last (in fact we were told
later that they are no longer visible on the bridge). We will hopefully share later
more of the fascinating street art we found around the city of Brest.
