Here Alain drives us further southwest along the shoreline where we start getting views similar to H.S. Wheeler's Photo #086.  Thanks to earlier e-mails from our French friends, we had learned that this little boat launch/resort area has been known as "La Maison Blanche" or The White House since before WWI.  The changes in vegetation and landscape (probably from WWII bombing) prohibited us from taking our 2014 photo from the exact same vantage point as Harry St.Clare Wheeler took his Photo #086.  This would have been an easy walk from the Air Station and probably a nice place to go for a swim on a warm summer day.  The Portzic lighthouse, shown in both old and new photos, still guards the gateway between the Atlantic Ocean and the large Bay of Brest.
