7th_Europe_Report -- Looking back to the Abbey we get a sense of the grounds which include some of its 297 acres. The estate also houses an orchard of eating and cider apples and several sheep, goats and cows which are listed in the brochure as "part of the maintenance crew." Special sheltered protection is given to preserving some of the delicate ecosystems such as heath, marsh, reed beds, and pastures.
