5th_Europe_Report -- As we round the corner from the train station, looking for the information office, we are greeted with this view of the river, the prominent church and Citadel, plus the bronze statue of Charles De Gaulle who, as a Lieutenant in World War I, was wounded by the Germans here in 1914.
As we understand it, the bridge is actually called the Charles De Gaulle Bridge
as he was shot in the leg during his crossing.
