We had hoped to venture on the higher ramparts more towards the new lift bridge
(one tower showing here above the castle tower) but an attendant apparently
bound on leaving his post early hurried us to get down to where could leave the
museum by the same way we came in. Maybe he was just having a bad day -
maybe we were just overly tired from all our previous activities - but our visit
here at the Museum and ancient castle fortress was somewhat anticlimactic.
Time now to drive back to our "gîte" in farm country just north of Brest
for some needed rest.
