Driving a few miles farther upriver, we take a few minutes to check out this castle ruins. According to an informational sign at the top of the road,, "Le Roc'h Morvan" is a feudal fortress perched atop a rock overlooking the Elorn River. Such a prominent location was a perfect place for such a fortress. In the 11th century the Viscount of Cornouaille Morvan gave his name to the castle erected on the site.  (Also see French language Wiki site with more photos and history.)
