05a_BanPong_Nov-Dec2008 -- Ten cows are tethered together out from the central pole. We are told that the race is only between the 2 outer cows, with the other 8 used as “spacers.” There is much poking and shoving, with a sharp stick used to liven up the racers. Soon the race starts, but a cloud of dust obscures the event. While the participants yell and seem to be enjoying this activity, we are still clueless as to what has happened in such a dusty atmosphere. We soon tire, give up on trying to understand, and leave to escape the horrible clouds of dust.
