The architecture of the new Science Museum is fantastic.  Emphasis is on geometry.  Can you tell? This picture doesn't do it justice, you have to be there to see how huge it is.
This little robot swims around on the pool under which is the walkway from the main building to the planetarium which is the largest planetarium in Japan.

Three of the most famous scientists in the world! Lee Marek of TV fame visits Niihama Science Museum and adds his insightful comments known as Leeisms.
These dinosaurs roar and gyrate on a regular basis and are a big hit with kids.

This dinosaur is a bit more sedate and traditional.
This periodic table of the elements has a sample of each in the jars.  Do you suppose they have uranium?

This museum featured a cultural history on the Ehime prefecture area which included samples of  this local craft of roof tiles and their cornice figurines.
Our Niihama City representative, Mr. Hideki Nagai, stands next to his mother's quilt which won a prize at this exhibition in the museum.

One of the entrance tunnels to the old Beshi Copper mine, now an interpretive center demonstrating the early industry which was the precursor to the current day Sumitomo Chemical Corporation.
This diorama (or model scene) shows the role women played in the early days of the copper mine.

This is the exit from the interpretive center.  A short walk took us back to the train for the ride down the hill to our lunch location.
Here we enjoy more wonderful Japanese food that we got to barbecue at our table.  Not pictured are the apricot ice cream cones.
