Note the houses span
most of the bridge and we find ourselves looking for evidence of some sort of
mill or remnants thereof. We wondered about navigation, but later learned
that this important bridge was the terminus for any significant navigation up
the Élorn River from the huge
Brest Bay.
This seems to be the area where the tidal action of the sea and bay meet the
flow of the river with the more downstream portion of
Landerneau being
the old
port area.
