1920 US Census:  Age 40; Married; Immigration year 1900; Papers Submitted for Naturalization; Living with his 21 year old California born wife Ruth in his owned home (no mortgage) in the Freshwater Precinct, Humboldt Co., California; his occupation was listed as "Filer, Shingle Mill."

1930 US Census:  Listed as "Sig Salvesen";  Age 52; Married; Immigration Year 1898; First Papers filed for Naturalization; Living with his 31 year old wife Ruth on their owned farm on Freshwater Road, Eureka Township, Humboldt Co.; His occupation was listed as "Filer, Shingle Mill" and his wife Ruth's occupation was listed as "Farmer ??, Chicken Farm."  This census indicates that she was age 19 when she first married; her husband "Sig" was age 40; he had "No" in the Veteran column.

DIED

SALVERSEN (sic)--- In this city on Friday, October 18th, 1935, Sigvald Salverson (sic), loving nephew of A. Larsen of Eureka.  He also leaves a step-mother and two brothers and a sister in Norway to mourn his loss.  A Native of Norway, aged 58 years, 1 month and 8 days.

   Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Sunday, October 20th, 1935, at 1 o'clock p. m. from the Pierce Funeral Parlors, No. 707 H Street, Eureka, California, Rev. Paul Borup officiating.  Interment at Ocean View Cemetery.  Under the auspices of Sons of Norway.

Sigvald Salvesen Dies in This City

Sigvald Salvesen, Freshwater rancher, died at the home of his uncle A. Larsen of Eureka, yesterday evening after a short illness.

   Salvesen was a native of Norway and was  58 years of age.  he had lived at Freshwater for several years.

   He leaves a brother and sister in Norway as well as a step-mother.  His only relative in this vicinity is Larsen.  The body is at the Pierce funeral parlors pending funeral arrangements.
