Obituary:  Eureka Times-Standard, Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003:

                 Fred William Elliot (sic), Sr.

   Services will be held Friday for Fred William Elliott, Sr. who passed away December 8, 2003, in Garberville at the age 67.  He was a resident of Rio Dell.

   A live long resident of Humboldt County, Fred was born September 11, 1936, in Scotia.  He had lived all his life in the Scotia/Rio Dell area.  Fred had worked in the lumber industry for 45 years, retiring from the Pacific Lumber Company.

   Fred was a member of the Sons of Norway, Danish Lodge, Scandinavian Festival, Boy Scouts of America, and many other community affairs.

  He is survived by his wife, Hellen Elliott, two sons, Edward Elliott, and Fred W. Elliott, JR, five grandchildren, Dale Elliott, Allie Elliott, Maxwell Elliott, Fred Elliott III, and Catylynn Goodwin, brother, James Elliott and his wife Bess.  He is also survived by numerous other relatives.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, El W. “Ted” Elliott and Caroline Elliott.

   Friends are invited to attend Memorial services, Friday, December 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Goble’s Chapel Fortuna with Pastor Rod Sanderson officiating.  Private interment will be at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka.

   The family has asked that Memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Humboldt, 2010 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka, CA 95501.
