CARL JOHAN REIERSEN
Carl Johan Reiersen died at a local hospital yesterday at the age of 83 years. He was a native of Bergen, Norway, who came to Humboldt county 40 years ago. Prior to coming to the United States he was a seaman and during World War I he worked as a shipwright at Fairhaven, later he became a poultry rancher until his retirement. Until his recent illness he made his home at Holmes for several years. He was a member of the Eureka lodge, Sons of Norway.
A brother and a sister in Bergen survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home with the Rev. Otis A. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Sons of Norway plot in Ocean View cemetery.
