184. John KEITHLY
(2) was born on 1 Jan 1755 in Germany near Danish
border. Some family data gives 1850 as birth year. He died on 28 Jul 1835.
"being 80 years old, 6 months." "He came to America about 1775
at the age of 20, locating in North Carolina he was a powerful man physically,
well educated, could speak seven languages, wrote a good hand, was a Revolutionary
soldier being a commissary officer, was with Gen. Washington at Valley Forge
In going through Pennsylvania Dutch settlement with supplies for the army he
became aquainted with Mary Ann Riblin who afterward became his wife..."
"In later life he was a companion of noted Peter Cartdright (sic)."
(This latter statement about Cartdright is also found in reference to John's
son James.)
He was married to Mary Ann or Am RIBLIN.
185. Mary
Ann or Am RIBLIN died "aged 90". "She died at the age of
90 living to see her forth generation, they had twelve children, all lived to
be grown and married..." Children were:

KEITHLY was born on 15 Jan 1783. She married Zebulen Brinson.

Elizabeth KEITHLY was born on 25 Aug 1784. "married a Mr. Harmon, she
lived to see five generations"

Ann or Am KEITHLY was born on 19 Jul 1786. One family paper gives her birth
date as 10 Jul 1786. She married Elizah Boylu, Boyleau or Boylen. They had
7 children all girls, one married Peter Secrest, another married a lawyer in
Cincinatti named Townley.

John KEITHLY was born on 3 Jan 1788. Tony Kurtz data has birth date of 1
Jan 1788. He died on 28 Sep 1830. Married Phebe McCollum.

KEITHLY was born on 6 May 1789. She married Samuel Smith, they had two sons,
James and Joseph..

KEITHLY was born on 27 Feb 1801. "she married John Waltz, 2 of their
sons were noted ministers." "Their youngest son was quite a noted preacher
in the North Indiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, another grand
son was a preacher in the Southern Californian Conference."

young and was always a cripple.
