Day 5 Supplement - Night Walk around Beirut
While Keith stayed at the hotel & rested nursing a head cold, Patrick was out walking around the City. Here are some of the Beirut nightlife scenes that he was able to capture.
A pick up game of football or 'soccer' in an empty parking lot is a nice way to spend a warm evening. | Out in front of the AUB is a totally happening ice cream shop. All hours cars are double and triple parked. | Out favorite coffee shop at night, the Modca Cafe. More Modca photos! | People, night life, goings on... |
Look closely at the exterior and you will see some very fine filigree as well as a gorgeous ceiling on this fine old house next to the AUB. | Along the waterfront or the 'Corniche' everyone comes out to play. The weather is amazingly warm. | While I was taking these pictures I got to talking with three guys, a teacher, a soccer player, and a soldier. | Had a great chat about life, opportunities and the future of Lebanon, with young men like these the future of the country could be assured in spite of the McDonald's. |
Miles of 'tailgate' parties. Street vendors selling candies, nuts, drinks, and etc. People sitting ... | ... talking, smoking, watching. Just general life flowing by. Many people would bring their cars and ... | ... open the doors and set up some chair and play stereos. Some guys with a 'boombox' were dancing in the shadows. | The camera cannot capture the beauty and the brightness of the Mediterranean as the moon and lights shine on it. |
