Beirut - American University of Beirut, Waterfront, Jeita Grotto

Spent most of the day footing it around Beirut.  Went down to the waterfront for photo ops of the famous Beirut Pigeon Rocks, but very crowded with others with the same idea.  Fabulous city, great food.  Took a tour of the American University of Beirut where Keith had always wanted to teach, now I do also.  Were given tour by absolutely charming students (one engineering and one business accounting, you guess from the photo which is which).  Setting against the Mediterranean is fabulous.

Were tired so took a nap midday, meant we set out late for the grotto, were the last people through.  These are listed as the largest in the world but they do not allow photos so we cannot show how utterly amazing these are.  There are and upper and lower grotto, one you walk through and the other by boat. A "must see" if you visit Lebanon.

Back to Center of town that has been restored, had amazing dinner at Kabob house under a mosque.  Made a video clip of two distinguished ladies smoking a hubbly-bubbly as the call to prayer goes off in the background.

VERY TIRED ...
