Subject: Greetings from Ban Pong Thailand
Hi,
We are here in the computer lab at the nursing college. We
just got out of a meeting where we met the director and staff.
All is going quite well. We are a bit on overwhelm with so
much going on. We spent the first night in Thailand in the
hotel near the airport. Yesterday 3 fellows from the Ban Pong
area came to pick us up. Two were Rotarians and one was on
the nursing college staff. He spoke very good English. We
have a nice smaller 2 story house on campus. We are still
trying to figure out how everything works, but are optimistic
at this point. We actually do not start our teaching
assignments until Monday. Last evening Ted, Susan and 2 of
their friends from downtown Ban Pong picked us up and took us
in to town for a very interesting meal. I think I will close
and send this off before I hit the wrong button. We are not
sure yet how our internet system will be working. We are
invited to use the computer lab, but would like to have our
own connection in our house. We will just have to see. We
are a bit disappointed with our online SaberNet mail as we
don't seem to be able to access our address book and the one
provided is very limited as to the number of addresses. We
might switch to using our Yahoo account which is:
okwheeler@yahoo.com
but for now we will be checking both Yahoo and SaberNet.
As we do not have many addresses available right now, could
you please forward this on to any of the family and friends
who might be interested in knowing we are still alive - that
we had a good trip - and that all looks well for a most
outstanding adventure in Thailand.
Until later,
Keith
