November 21 & 22, 2003

Peg & Keith travel to the Napa/Vallejo/San Francisco area related to the Slooper bautastein project.  They meet "cousin" Floyd Stone from the Napa County Historical Society & Vivi Stenberg, Staff Reporter for The Napa Valley Register.  (See online version of the Register article Vivi wrote.)  This meeting takes place on Friday the 21st -- at, where else but, the Tulocay Cemetery.  The next evening Floyd & the Wheelers attend the annual lutefisk feed put on by the Vallejo Sons of Norway Victory Lodge #43.  Floyd is also a member of the Victory Lodge and he meets us in Vallejo with his son and his family for a fine meal and much socializing. (Peg did the honors with the camera on these occasions.)

Keith & Floyd show Vivi (R) about where the bautastein will be placed beside the Anderson grave stone. The newspaper's photographer joins us early on & here crouches to get a shot of Keith by the family grave stone. Keith explains more about the background to the project to Vivi & the photographer.

Floyd listens patiently as Keith rambles eloquently on. The photographer snaps away, while the discussion continues. We move down to another section of the cemetery where Keith points out where his "rich uncle" is buried.

This is the gravestone for Jacob's son Andrew J. and his wife Melissa. Part of the large gathering at Vallejo with Floyd, son, grandson & daughter-in-law in foreground. Keith explains the bautastein project to many interested Lodge members.
