This is not the sloop Restoration,
but it will have to do as we prepare to enter the Tillamook
Cheese Creamery.
Einar is impressed with
this American cow that will never kick as her hooves are bolted to the
floor!!
A view inside this
factory where the blocks of cheese are being processed and wrapped.
These young ice cream
servers did not believe Keith when he suggested that their "waffle
cones" should more properly be called "krumkake."
They thought he was just another dirty old man, until a lady behind him
confirmed the legitimacy of this term. She said she was from the
"Norwegian community" of Minnesota.
Here Rotraud, Einar and
Peg enjoy the cool temperature of the north Oregon coast.
Finally she made it ---
wading in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Einar resists as Rotraud
tries to get him in to the Pacific surf. This Viking says "NO"
without a Viking boat!
At an other peaceful spot
along the Oregon coast, Keith, Rotraud & Einar rest on this large piece
of driftwood.
Approaching the historic Siuslaw River
Bridge at Florence built in 1936. Check out the old photo at the Oregon
historic bridges web site.
Viking Einar looks out to
sea through the fog at Brays Point.
Peg checks out the
welcoming signs for the North Bend and Coos Bay communities seen here in the
distance.
We meet our long time
good friend, Ann Webster, for dinner at a Charleston restaurant just west of
Coos Bay.
Ann happily shows off the
Norwegian flag pin she was just given by Rotraud & Einar
Staying in the Mill
Casino Hotel this evening, Keith & Einar try to figure out how to
work these electronic slot machines. They won nothing & Peg almost got
the camera confiscated for taking this photo!
Peg, Rotraud & Einar
relax in the Mill Hotel
lobby before checking out in the morning of the 24th.
Rotraud & Einar are
seen here with this painting which is an example of the Hotel decor.
One last photo op in the
parking lot before leaving this interesting Native American casino and
hotel.
