Day 7 - Metal working shop & Brass store, Tripoli
September 17, 2002
| The view as we enter from the street. The older fellow says something to the boy as they welcome us in. (This photo actually taken on our way out.) | We are fascinated by the wide variety of metal work on display here - most of it apparently of copper. Works of artistic craftsmanship! | The young fellow invites us through the door in the back of the shop to the rear work room. A top of a new arak still is in the foreground here. | This busy and very noisy place is where these many types of metal objects are fabricated - most too big for our suitcases ... Darn! |
| These flat disks will obviously have a much different shape when this fellow gets through pounding on them | The young fellow proudly points out the large and very heavy duty equipment in the shop. | Another view of the shops equipment and objects of production. Keith is reminded of his family's plumbing & sheet metal shop. | Behind Mustapha & Keith here, & above their heads, are some more arak stills. |

| A short distance down the street from the metal working shop, we visit a small but very bright shop filled with much brassware. In additions to buying 2 coffee grinders, we get these 3 photos. | |||
| Patrick & Keith with the young fellow that helped us with our purchase. | Mustapha & the shop keeper at the other end of the shop. | Patrick takes this photo of Keith & the young fellow who was very helpful. | |
