Day 6 - Al-Sakhra Café (the Cliffhouse), Chemlan (Shemlan), east of Beirut

In the mountains just southeast of Beirut is the beautiful village of Chemlan, or Shemlan.  Our dear friend Nada grew up in another small mountain village near here.  With a beautiful view of Beirut & the Medeterranean below us, we would enjoy a most special meal at this beautiful restored restaurant.

Patrick, Keith & Arminée with huge coffee pot near the entrance of the Cliffhouse.

Inside, with an outstanding view from our table, we are treated to a delicious mezze meal.

Our very friendly & helpful wait staff.

Another dining area in the Cliffhouse.  Another attractive part of this restaurant. The view to the northwest with the city of Beirut to the right, the airport to the left.

The view to the southwest.

War damage is evident in the large home right next to the restaurant. From the Cliffhouse's outside dining balcony, we get a closer view to the roof damage.
