FIFTEENTH GENERATION

18950. Jon (Torgilsen) STILLUFSEIKE (OF VATS) (1190) (1191) was born about 1480. Jon lived in Bruk A at Stillufseike farm in Vats in 1519 when he then paid 13 "mark" in tax. In 1524 he is mentioned in a litigation on Haukås estate in Sveio, and he won this law suit. Jon was among other things awarded Skjervheim with a "herredagsdom," and it may indicate that this farm had belonged to this family from before. There were long and many conflicts on the Stillufseike estate, especially from 1633 then Holger O. Skiftun/Lindanger was implicated or mixed up in this matter. And Holger was great grandson of Jon. Jon is probably brother to Amund at Ile in Vikedal, and there their father was called Torgils or Trugils. Both Jon and Amund had a son with that name. It is expected that Jon or his wife was of the Dahl-Slee family which was an old norwegian noble family. It is guessed (or surmised) that he was married to Anna Ivarsdt at Sandvik in Kvinnherad -- of Dahl-Slee family. Because he won the lawsuit about the Haukås estate, he must have had contacts back in the past with this family. Many in the posterity were married into nobility, both the noble Koll- , Losna- and Galte family. Jon probably had 3 children.
He was married. Children were:

child i. Torgils Jonsen STILLUFSEIKE (OF VATS)(1192) was born in Stillufseike, Vats, Rogaland, Norway. He is listed as the second farmer at Stillufseike Bruk A. Records indicate that he paid 1 dalar (old norwegian currency) in tax in 1563, but he probably died without any children. No more is known about him.
child ii. Jon Jonsen STILLUFSEIKE (OF VATS)(1193) (photo of bumerker for Jon Jonsen Stillufseike) was born in Stillufseike, Vats, Rogaland, Norway. He is listed as the 3rd farmer at Stillufseike Bruk A. He probably had no children. His 1st cousin, and son of Amund Arnbjørnsen Ile the younger, Knut Amundsen was probably the next one to take over Bruk A of the Stillufseike farm. Jon Jonson is mentioned as a juror, when he did seal an authority to the men, who were sent to pay homage to the king in Oslo. He had the same seal as Amund Arnbjørnsen Ile the younger, who died in 1603.
