"NOTES In 1670 John located in Wainscott some 2.5 miles southwest of the village of East Hampton. On the East Hampton rate list 24 Aug 1675 and 8 Sep 1683, owning 13 acres. In Oct 1686 John Osburne was named with others in contempt of the law, in East Hampton, and was ordered taken into custody 18 Nov 1686. On 24 May 1687 an inventory was taken of his estate."
