The Tancook Whaler, Yara
|
Kent Wheeler, Nov. 2007 |
Two and one half years ago (July 2005), I traded a Thunderbird sailboat which I had restored, for Yara. (formerly known as Mara.) I have been enjoying restoring Yara since then. I had a single cylinder Volvo Penta MD5A motor rebuilt which I installed this last summer. Pictures below detail the bottom painting that was recently completed. Additionally you will see Yara's sidekick -- the electric orange canoe. One of my personal pleasures is working with exotic woods, and I've managed to use some 33 different kinds of wood, mostly on the interior. (more photos of this soon -- See Yara Album 2) She is now a certified "live aboard" at Woodley Island Marina on Humboldt Bay in Eureka, California. The final photos on this page are of some of the several previous boats I have owned. |
